Rev. Fr. Alphonso Alphaeus Abiodun Carew
Early Life and Family
Fr. Alphonso was born to the late Mr. Alphonso Francis Ekundayo Carew and the late Mrs. Selina Margaret Taiwo Carew. He is survived by his sister, Mrs. Sarah A. Cole (née Carew), residing in Stafford, Virginia, USA. His other siblings, Ms. Cynthia O. Carew, Mr. Jonathan L. Carew, and Pastor Dr. Manfred M. A. Carew, have all passed away.
Ordination and Ministry
Fr. Alphonso was ordained as a priest on April 9, 1986. After a distinguished career, he voluntarily retired from active service in January 2025.
Education and Formation
Fr. Alphonso’s priestly formation and education took place at:
– St. Kizito’s Pre-Major Seminary, Kenema, Sierra Leone
– St. Paul’s Major College/Seminary, Gbarnga, Liberia
– Urbaniana University, Rome, Italy
