In a series of significant events, the Catholic Archdiocese of Freetown recently celebrated notable achievements and initiatives. Sister Teresa McKeon was honored with the Presidential Distinguished Service Award from the Republic of Ireland, recognizing her lifelong dedication to service.
Caritas, in partnership with the National Disaster Management Agency, celebrated the Tzu Chi Foundation for ten years of unwavering support in humanitarian efforts.
On February 17, 2025, Archbishop Edward T. Charles inaugurated St. Peter’s Junior Seminary in Kingtom, marking a new chapter in Catholic education. Additionally, St. Paul’s Major Seminary hosted a public lecture commemorating its Jubilee year, themed “The Role of the Church in Promoting Reconciliation, Unity, and Good Governance.” In an effort to strengthen outreach, the Archdiocese has also enhanced visibility for its media teams, ensuring that these impactful activities reach a wider audience.
